dote (2024) is a duet that is fluid and "repetitive" in structure. Inspired by long car drives, the work highlights/focuses in on different aspects of taking a long drive ie. fast-forwarding and rewinding a cassette, talking in the car, driving with the windows down, and the sound of the tires on the ground, etc. dote has an aura that can be described as soft, fuzzy, breathy, on-edge, and a bit sunset-like. This is expressed through the use of extended techniques such as air sounds and pitch bends, and through the exploration of musical structure, texture, harmony, and timbre.
