(2024)

"Over!" (2024) is a jazz ensemble piece that travels through a night of dancing. Taking inspiration from Lindy Hop (swing) and Blues social dancing, the work acts as a collage, moving through different styles and interpretations of jazz and blues. "Over!" has a morphing aura that can be described as, at first, fun, expressive, attention grabbing, and later moving to a feel that is more open, cool, and laid back. This is to depict a full night out that would begin at 8:30pm and go until 4am.

The work features a great deal of independent lines, solos, interruptions, exploration of timbres, harmony, and musical structure, along with the expanded use of the basic/fundamental steps of each dance practice.
