pith (2021;2024) is a solo and interlude from my voice and piano piece AURA (2021). As the core of the duo, pith begins in a place where time is fluid and light -- a daydream. As the ear moves through the work's warm, sweet, peaceful, and colorful texture, we slowly return to an awakened state. pith explores harmony and time while also incorporating a touch of weight and gestures of interrupted and contemplative thought.
